Lucykate Crafts is run by Amy Adams. Amy now lives in the East Midlands
but is originally from Formby in Mersyside. Amy makes softies and also
soft sculpture using textiles and embroidery.

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION & WHAT
MATERIALS DO YOU LIKE TO WORK WITH?

"I get my inspiration from all around, even though I spend a  
great deal of time online, I still like to buy magazines and  
books.  Nature books and vintage toy pattern books are a huge  
resource, picked up from charity shops and jumble sales.  Felt has  
always been one of my favorite fabrics, and this has recently  
developed into an obsession of seeking out old jumpers which I can  
felt myself, that kind of felt is far nicer to work with. I also  
love embroidery thread, my favorite being pearl cotton at the  
moment."

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON AT THE MOMENT?

"I am working on something secret at the moment, something which
could potentially be a huge thing for me. New softie patterns are
always on the go, I currently have a fox design which is proving
to be tricky to get right and I'd really like to make some softie
shoes and give them a try on Etsy as I haven't made any of the
shoes for a while, and I loved making those!."

DO YOU HAVE ANY CRAFT FAIRS / EVENTS COMING UP?

"No, I shy away from doing craft fairs I'm afraid. I've done them in
the past, just after I finished my degree, and based on my experiences
back then, coupled with the product I make now, I don't find craft fairs  
to be my market."
